About
María Sylvia Llamozas A.K.A ia Llamozas, was born in 1983 and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. Throughout her life, she has also been fascinated by art and storytelling, which drove her to study Journalism. Once graduated, she moved to Barcelona, Spain, she delved into the practice of collage art as a self-taught artist. What she cherishes the most from this medium is the ability to tell stories through the images that she collects and puts together with artistic joy. She currently lives in Tenerife on the Canary Islands with her husband and French bulldog Lola, where she creates from her home studio.

“I like to tell stories with my artworks. Paper as a medium allows me to create and treasure the ordinary. For me my artworks are all about mindfulness. A page in a magazine, a leaf on the floor or an object from the past. My art seeks to exalt these little common things by encouraging people to see them in a different way, combining everyday elements and creating an artwork that makes us appreciate something that could otherwise be easily overlooked. They serve as a gentle reminder to live and enjoy the present moment.”

Eyes Collection
Can you tell what a person thinks and feels by looking into their eyes? These 3D collage boxes offer us worlds of women whose faces are just an eye. The mystery invites you to get close. The perspective of the layers invites you to have a playful approach and move around to discover more. Flowers, birds, and insects surround these women reminding us that nature is an intrinsic part of who we are and the perfect place to connect with ourselves. My dream is that they spark your curiosity, invite you to play like a child, enjoy the present moment, and feel close to nature by following the mysterious gaze of a woman.

This set of collage boxes features photos of women it is actually photos of the same woman in two different settings. Even though I chose very different eyes to be the center of each box, I also love how as a set they can reflect different aspects of the same person.
