All Eyes On Malti B Lee

About

Malti B Lee is a Bay Area-based, British Indian artist, specialising in acrylic painting. Her paintings have been exhibited widely across the San Francisco Bay Area, been published locally and internationally, and are held in private collections around the world. With a degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD from University College London, Malti has always sought to understand the wonder of the complex world around her. She has pushed the limits of this through both her academic and creative pursuits. Following her academic career, Malti transitioned into business, becoming a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group where she advised companies internationally. Today, Malti lives in California as a full-time artist, serves as co-chair of an arts non-profit steering committee and volunteers as an art docent in schools.

Statement

My ‘Lost in Colour’ series explores the fusion of nature and urban environments, drawing inspiration from my experiences of living & working across Europe, Asia and America. This collection characteristically features expressive flowers against abstract backgrounds, punctuated with line-drawn architectural details from across cities and cultures. Having lived exclusively in the hustle and bustle of metropolitan cities, pockets of vibrant flowers against the urban landscape have always brought me moments of joy, calmness and reflection. I paint to share these experiences with my audience, irrespective of geography, language or culture.
