About

The Brandenburg artist Matthias Lück was born in 1984 in Strausberg. Growing up in the city of Müncheberg, Matthias approached the traditional form of painting through experience in the design areas of urban art. In his figurative visual language, he takes up topics relevant to the time and relates them to one another with the help of collage-like pictorial spaces. This interplay between the repetitive geometric shapes and the protagonists creates captivating artworks that challenge the viewer and are full of surprises.

In search of his artistic focus, Matthias invites you on a journey. It opens up a utopian universe that is enriched with bright, radiant colors and offers plenty of scope for your own interpretations and approaches.

About this work

What do we have to offer, WE, the affluent society. Regarding the problems we have to deal with globally in the next few years. The way of living, OUR way of living, is being criticized, and rightly so! Our media propagate prosperity and shout it out into the world. We live in Cockaigne! Groundwater levels drop, swimming pool in the garden, cocktails with umbrellas, let’s drown the doubts. The white man is doing very well in the world.

We are a plague, we pretend our way of life is the right one. We have lost the distance, the distance to life.

Symbols and hearts everywhere! What should I do? I feel lost, floating somewhere on the edge of the Milky Way without seeing what’s rolling towards me.
