Biography
Abby Maroney (she/they) is a queer neurodivergent emerging artist based in Bozeman, Montana. While she has had an interest in art her whole life, she has only just started pursuing it seriously, discovering a love for creating analog collage and mixed media pieces. Bold shapes and bright colors are common in their work, conveying a sense of playfulness that catches the eye.

Statement
I have dabbled in art for years, but nothing ever stuck before I started experimenting with collage. There is something special about taking images that already exist and turning them into something new. I am a huge fan of old things (classic rock, vintage clothing), and I love using vintage books and magazines in my art. My favorite part of collaging is playing around with the composition of a piece after I have cut some elements out. A lot of the time I have a specific idea in mind, but when I get to this stage I end up creating something completely different, so that’s really where the magic happens.
