Biography
Lucia Antonini is a visual artist and musician, from Madrid, Spain where she completed her art degree and master. During her first years of career she developed relational art projects, art installations and photography. She was selected in several art competitions that led her to exhibit in different art institutions around Spain.

In 2011 she decided to take a break from the art scene and focus on music. She recorded several EP´s. The last one called “The secret garden”, was the theme of a solo exhibition that was held at the Botanical Garden of Valencia in 2018 showing drawings, the music video, photos, and lyrics from the album. In 2019 she went back to painting with the project “Emotional Botany”, started in Brazil, and focusing on the geometry and symbolism of plants and flowers to re-connect to our inner truths.
Statement
With my project “Emotional Botany” I invite the viewer to drive our attention to nature. The way I approach it is considering it a part of ourselves, not just something out there, but an ally and a mirror where we reflect each other. Turning our eyes to those simple elements as flowers and plants, even the ones in our busy cities, give as access to some very old knowledge, that is still in ourselves, we just need to re-awaken it.
In my process of observation, I try to connect to what emotions, feelings and thoughts Nature inspires me, that´s why I called the project so: my botany is a way to drive through my emotions with the hope that it will speak to others, as we share the same condition of being humans. It´s an introspective process where I am learning about archetypes and symbolism that is part of our cultures since the beginning of times, back to this knowledge that seems being lost. In that sense Art is an amazing tool that give us access to our intuition and subconscious mind and Nature is still there to guide us.
