During the months of April and May, our colleague Fola Harold from @artsy_folk_ will interview a series of artists to give them the opportunity to share background information about themselves and their work with a wider audience.
We will start the month of May with French native, Barcelona based artist Hélène Panier aka Nanou Ink, whose works revolve about femininity, beauty, and the opposition between women’s external appearances and their inner struggles.
Tune in live on Sunday, May 14t at 04:00 pm UK time / 11:00 am EST
to join our Instagram Live session @suboartmagazine
We look forward to seeing you there!
About me & my work
My name is Helene Panier. I a mum, an artist, a scientist and forever a dreamer. French, I grew up in Brittany, and after 13 years in Paris and one in Brussels, I moved in Barcelona, where I live since 2019. I am a biotechnology engineer by education with a career in the pharma industry for 17 years. I reconnected with art in in my mid-30s. Nowadays, I share my life between freelance consulting, painting, illustration and tattooing.
I am also working on opening an art gallery and shop, “Divine Gallery” in Barcelona. I want this space to celebrate womanity and self-empowerment via Art. And I hope the gallery to be ready to welcome visitors before summer 2023!

About My Work
I am a sensitive, contrasted, and passionate woman, my muses are sharing my journey, from shadow to light. My paintings and illustrations reflect on my journey of reconnecting with myself, a journey shared by so many women. I want to empower the feminine in each individual, I want “vulnerable”, “soft”, “intuitive” to be seen as strengths…and not only for women. Our inner fight between accepting our wildness, and our lifelong quest for peace and balance, are my daily source of inspiration. The women I met in my daily life, are radically inspiring me, my friends, my clients my family…women are thriving, and challenging the society codes. They are owning a really specific power, that they are not always aware of and that’s what I want to share with my art. My women are sensitives. They can seem fragile or sad, they question themselves a lot and can look delicate, but they are strong inside, always knowing who they are, and where they go. They are muses, angels, goddesses… They are what we hide but who we are deep inside.

Women and emotions flow as a daily source of inspiration. Our cyclical flow of emotions, our inner fight between accepting our wildness, and our lifelong quest for peace and balance, are my daily source of inspiration.

In my 40th, I realise that if I don’t recognise and give space to who I am inside, no-one else will do it for me. This is what “Self-empowerment” means to me.
