Features & Interviews

Get featured in our November 2023 print issue along dozens of talented fellow emerging artists!
Features are 2 pages long & include at least two pictures of your work (oftentimes more), plus your artist bio, statement, website & social media handle. We’ll also select in between 4 and 12 artists for interviews with us. Interviews can be done via Zoom (it’s always great to meet each other and we transcribe them for you afterwards) or in written form, and they are in between 4 and 10 pages long.

Open to artists from all fields

Artists from all fields of visual art can apply to this open call. If you’re working in painting, drawing, illustration, photography, sculpture, installation, printmaking, performance/video, collage, fibre & textile art, or mixed media, we look forward to receiving your submission! (Please note that we do not accept AI-generated images).


Submitting is easy, only 2 steps!

1. Fill out the submission form below
2. send up to 6 works to submissions@suboartmagazine.com, Subject: NOVEMBER

Your pictures should be:

High resolution (preferably 300 dpi & 31 cm on the longer side (vertical) / 22 cm on the longer side if horizontal)
– Named as follows: First Name_Last Name_Title_Year_Technique_Size (specify if cm, inches, feet or other)
JPG or PNG (no .heic or tiff)
– Pictures must only show the artwork, no watermarks, no frames or back ground (sculptures may show some background)

You can send us the pictures:

– attached to your email (loose images or zip)
– or via WeTransfer (please name the folder with your FIRST & LAST NAME), Google Drive, DropBox
Artists submitting videos or videos of performances, please submit still images.

We like being inclusive

To enable artists from all backgrounds to participate in this open call, we don’t charge a submission fee. In case you are selected, there is a non-refundable publication fee of 20€ (22$ USD) that will include a free digital copy of the magazine as a PDF. To enable artists from difficult financial backgrounds to participate, we’ll waive the publication fee for up to 5 selected artists.

Further information

The print issues will be available for purchase internationally through print on demand.
Your works and selected pages of the magazine will be shared on our Instagram page via posts, stories or reels.
We’ll get back to all participating artists with feedback via email until September 30th, even if you are not selected.
